After a few days of early labor and wondering if I would ever actually be in active labor our sweet princess, Chandler Marie, made her arrival April 28th, 2015 weighing in at 9lbs 1oz and 21.5 inches. I was so anxious the last 4 weeks wondering how it would all play out– would I have to have another C-section after a long labor , would my doctor suggest a scheduled C-section after 40 weeks, or would I be able to have my drug-free VBAC? I am so thankful for my support group during labor and delivery that made it all possible to have the VBAC I had hoped and prayed for. It was truly the most empowering feeling!
Our sweet girl had some respiratory issues and was taken to the nursery very shortly after birth, this picture was the last time i held her until the following day when she was able to be taken off of oxygen. Again, we have many people to be thankful for including our pediatrician and the nurses who cared for her while she recovered from making her way into this crazy world! We sure did miss her that first night though.
But we’ve been soaking up every moment with her since we got her back in our arms! And after a couple days of being treated for jaundice we were headed home!
We have had a great 2.5 weeks getting adjusted to being a family of four (six including fur babies)! So very thankful for our family who helped with Cannon while we were in the hospital and our first days home. Also, for wonderful friends who have been bringing us meals ( and delicious desserts). We have been so spoiled, Im not sure I ever want to cook again!
Cannon has been a great loving big brother so far and we can not be more grateful for two healthy babies. Life is good.
Until next time!
